Wunmi Mosaku Joins ‘The Life And Deaths Of Wilson Shedd’ Movie

EXCLUSIVE: Sinners standout Wunmi Mosaku is a new addition to The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd, the forthcoming prison break thriller written and directed Tim Blake Nelson.

Character details are under wraps, but she rounds out a cast led by Amanda Seyfried and Scoot McNairy, in which Nelson also features. The indie watches as a teacher in an abusive marriage takes a job at a maximum-security prison, falling for a charismatic inmate. The disastrous consequences call into question not only the nature of punishment and retribution, but the very limits of our humanity.

Currently in production in Georgia, the film also stars Missi Pyle, William Jackson Harper, Elizabeth Marvel, Grant Harvey, and Devyn Tyler. Producers include Julie Buck, Nelson, Ryan Bartecki, Miles David Romney, and Billy Hines, with Christopher Hines, Gary Levinsohn, Molly C. Quinn, Matthew M. Welty and Elan Gale exec producing. John Mock and Vanessa Stewart are co-producers. Co Created Media, V42 Fund, Nelson’s Red Barn Films, QWGmire, and Story Mill Entertainment are the production companies, and domestic rights are being co-represented by WME, V42, and D Squared Films.

Mosaku is coming off of her turn as Annie, the Hoodoo priestess partner of Michael B. Jordan’s Smoke, in Sinners, Ryan Coogler’s smash hit period vampire flick, which has grossed over $350 million worldwide. Previously, she’s also been seen in films like Deadpool & Wolverine, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Philomena, as well as lauded series like Loki, Black Mirror, We Own This City and Lovecraft Country.

The rising talent is repped by Gersh, Principal Entertainment LA, Scott Marshall Partners, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
