Sky Releases ‘Flight 149: Hostage Of War‘ Trailer

Sky’s next major doc from the UK, Flight 149: Hostage of War, now has a trailer. The doc follows one of cover-up around an incident at the start of the Gulf War in 1990, when a British Airways civilian flight touched down in Kuwait just after Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi forces had invaded the country. Passengers and crew were trapped and became pawns in a rapidly escalating international crisis. Britain’s government denied any prior knowledge of the invasion for three decades, but information now challenges the official narrative and the Jenny Ash-directed film features first-hand testimony from surviving hostages seeking the truth, investigative journalist Stephen Davis and political insiders. The doc drops in the UK on June 11. It screened at SXSW in March.
