Here’s everything you need to know about the film before its release.
What is The Surfer about?
The Surfer follows a man (played by Cage) who returns to Australia after years in the U.S. to buy back his childhood family home. However, his plans take a dark turn when he is humiliated in front of his teenage son by a group of territorial local surfers who claim ownership over the secluded beach where he once surfed.
Determined to stand his ground, he refuses to leave, leading to a psychological battle that pushes him to the edge of his sanity.
Written by Thomas Martin and directed by Lorcan Finnegan (Vivarium), the film is described as a gripping and unnerving thriller that explores themes of identity, obsession, and resilience.
