EXCLUSIVE: Robert John Burke (The Last of Us) and Burn Gorman (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) are new additions to the cast of Alejandro G. Iñárritu‘s untitled film for Warner Bros and Legendary, starring Tom Cruise.
No word on the roles they’re playing. Slated for release on October 2, 2026, the film watches as the most powerful man in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.
As previously announced, the cast also includes Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde, Riz Ahmed, Michael Stuhlbarg and Emma D’Arcy. Iñárritu is directing from his script written with Alexander Dinelaris, Nicolás Giacobone, and Sabina Berman. He’s also producing alongside Cruise and Legendary Entertainment.
Most recently seen playing Seth, owner of bar The Tipsy Bison, on HBO’s The Last of Us, Burke’s other major TV credits include Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Person of Interest, Gossip Girl, Rescue Me, and Oz. Recently seen in the films Boston Strangler and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, he is repped by Amplified and Innovative Artists.
Recently wrapping production on T-Street’s All the Devils Here, Gorman is coming off of appearances in hit studio titles Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Upcoming, he’ll be seen in Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein, a Netflix flick marking his third collaboration with the filmmaker on the heels of his stop-motion Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and Pacific Rim. He is repped by Hamilton Hodell, Verve, and Entertainment 360.
