MAFS: Why controversial groom Mike Gunner is looking for love on reality TV again as he signs up for Love Triangle

EXCLUSIVE: He made waves during Season 6 of Married At First Sight, and now Mike Gunner is stepping back into the world of reality TV for another shot at finding love.

But this time, the controversial groom, 50, is swapping Commitment Ceremonies for something a little bit different in the Stan Original Series Love Triangle.

The Stan Original Series Love Triangle Season 3 premieres this Sunday only on Stan.

In the series – which premieres Sunday, April 6 – five singles must choose from two suitors, sight unseen after communicating via text and calls. They then move in together and form a connection… until their second choice comes knocking.

Mike spoke to 9Entertainment at the Love Triangle launch party on Thursday evening, where he explained how modern-day dating has had its challenges since leaving the show in 2019.

“When you go on a date, people either really like me or they really don’t,” he explained. “I feel like a lot of people say, ‘I know your voice’ or ‘I know your face’.

“If I say I’m from MAFS, they can either have watched the season and think – absolutely not – or they can be like, ‘oh my God! That’s amazing.’

“When I watched my season of MAFS, I didn’t like me. So when someone messages me and say I think you’re great, I’m like – why? I was awful!”

Mike and Heidi didn’t last, and although he was in a three-year relationship with someone else after the show he’s now back on the dating scene and hoping to find a long-term partner on Love Triangle.

“I’m a long-term kinda guy, I have longevity in me. It’s just hard to find the one, especially when you’re 50,” he added.

“In terms of my wish list for a partner… someone who understands you, thinks you’re funny, gets the jokes, doesn’t judge you too harshly and sees potential. I’m still young!”

He hopes to focus on making a connection with someone before they judge him on his MAFS past.
