HBO’s Steve Carell Comedy Series Adds Annie Mumolo


EXCLUSIVE: Annie Mumolo (HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bridesmaids) has joined HBO‘s untitled comedy series from Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses as a recurring. She joins the cast let by series regulars Steve Carell, Charly Clive, Phil Dunster, Danielle Deadwyler, John C. McGinley and K.

The single-camera comedy is set on a college campus, centering on author Greg’s (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter, Katie (Clive).

Mumolo is believed to be playing the Greg’s ex-wife and Katie’s mother.

The first of 10 half-hour episodes was written by Lawrence and Tarses. Lawrence, who executive produce the series with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer Productions. The comedy is produced by Doozer in association with Warner Bros Television, where Lawrence’s Doozer banner and Tarses are under overall deals.

Mumolo, an Oscar nominee for co-writing Bridesmaids, was a series regular on NBC”s About a Boy and guest starred on the final season of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. Most recently, she was seen in the Amazon feature The Idea of You opposite Anne Hathaway. Mumolo is repped by UTA, Thruline Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
