Identical twins Daisy and Aurora were “wrongly labelled at birth”.
Although it might be obvious by looking at them, the sisters, 29, only recently discovered they were identical twins rather than fraternal.
“We only found out six months ago,” Aurora said in an episode of Australia’s Most Identical.

It was after a TikTok video of theirs went viral and commenters pointed out just how alike they were that Daisy and Aurora decided to get a DNA test.
“It was cool to get that final answer and really know that down to the decimal point, 99.999 percent identical,” Daisy said.

The duo made it to the top eight out of 100 sets of twins on Australia’s Most Identical.
Daisy and Aurora are by far one of the most individualistic sets of twins on the show.
It turns out there’s a good reason for that – they thought they were fraternal twins for most of their lives.

“Always thinking that we were fraternal, we always had to have our own identity,” Aurora said.
“Yeah, we had permission to develop our own unique style.”

Host of Australia’s Most Identical, Scott Cam, turned to the experts to ask if it was common for twins to be “wrongly labelled as non-identical”.
“Yes, a third of twins either don’t know or are misinformed whether they are identical or fraternal,” Professor Jeff Craig of Twins Research Australia said.
”If identical twins look at all different or behave different, even slightly, people say ‘Oh you can’t be identical.”

Over two nights, 100 sets of twins gathered for a series of mind-bending tests to discover just who was the country’s most identical.
