Broadway’s ‘The Last Five Years’ Adds Performance To Star Standbys

Producers of Broadway‘s The Last Five Years – the Jason Robert Brown musical starring Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren – have taken an unusual step as a way to honor the industry’s all-important pinch-hitters: They’ve added a one-night-only performance to star standbys Noah Kieserman and Nasia Thomas.

“We as a theater industry would be nowhere without the dedication of swings, understudies and standbys,” producers Seaview, ATG Productions and The Season said in a statement. “We are so excited to be able to give Noah and Nasia an opportunity to perform these roles that have been so delicately and beautifully realized by Nick and Adrienne.”

Kieserman and Thomas will perform the roles in a specially added Sunday June 15 7 p.m. performance, one week before the limited engagement comes to a close.

Kieserman made his Broadway debut in 2022 playing Connor Murphy in the replacement cast of Dear Evan Hansen (he also toured with the musical). TV credits include Law & Order, The White House Plumbers and Lady In The Lake. He can also be seen in the upcoming dark comedy feature film Floating Carousel.

Thomas was most recently seen as Anna of Cleves in Six on Broadway. Other Broadway credits include the revival of Caroline or Change, Ain’t Too Proud and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

The Last Five Years follows two New Yorkers, rising author Jamie and aspiring actress Cathy, as they fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Whitney White directs.
