Having the right people there to support you during wedding dress shopping is a must-have for all brides to-be.

That was something Jasz knew all too well – so she organised the perfect entourage for her special day dress shopping.

In an episode of Say Yes To The Dress With Tan France – which you can stream for free on 9Now – fashion expert Tan France was chatting with colleagues Lauren and Dee when an unusual guest entered the store.

“Hi, how’s it going?” asked a blue puppet with purple hair.

“Are you the bride?” a confused Tan enquired.

But no, it turned out Patsy May was simply there to help a friend find the dress of her dreams.

That friend was Jasz, a professional mermaid who shared her story of living with chronic fatigue syndrome.

She hoped to find a dress that made her feel as good on land as she does in the water.

“I’ve put on a little bit of weight since becoming unwell due to not being as mobile,” Jasz explained to Tan.

“I want to find a way where I can love my body.”

Tan was excited to build Jasz’ confidence by finding her a dress to make her feel incredible on her wedding day.

One of his options was a stunning gown with an exposed shoulder, cinched waist and large bow detail on the back, which he correctly guessed would make Jasz look and feel great.

However, it was puppet Patsy May who surprised everyone with some brutal feedback on the look.

“It kind of reminds me of my grandma’s drapes,” the puppet said, also deeming the off-the-shoulder look dated.

Ouch.

Thankfully, Tan found Jasz a dress that everyone – even Patsy May – could agree was absolutely perfect.
