CBS‘ Boston Blue continues to assemble the Silver family. Marcus Scribner (black-ish) has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming Blue Bloods offshoot. He joins previously cast Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Ernie Hudson, Maggie Lawson and Gloria Reuben.
In Boston Blue, Wahlberg reprises his Blue Bloods role as NYPD Officer Danny Reagan as he takes a position with Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with Detective Lena Silver (Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.
Reuben plays Mae Silver, Boston’s District Attorney and the matriarch of a blended family of law enforcement professionals. Her daughter is Lena, and her stepdaughter Sarah (Lawson) is the Police Superintendent. Her son Jonah (Scribner) is a rookie cop; her father is Reverend Peters (Hudson).
Scribner’s Jonah is the youngest member of the Silver family and is in law enforcement like his mother and sisters — each of whom are formidable in their own ways. Always the cool kid growing up, Jonah carries himself with confidence and swagger in all situations, so he’s naturally frustrated at being a rookie cop on the sidelines of the city’s biggest investigations.
Boston Blue is produced by CBS Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer TV. Brandon Sonnier & Brandon Margolis will showrun and executive produce. Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed and Wahlberg also will serve as executive producers. Anthony Hemingway will direct and executive produce the first episode.
Scribner is best known for his role as on ABC’s black-ish, which he reprised on the Freeform spinoff grown-ish. His casting was first reported by Variety.
