After 10 years together, shared fiancé of ‘world’s most identical twins’ reveals their biggest relationship issue

Identical Aussie twins Anna and Lucy DeCinque share everything in life – including their fiancé.

The Perth sisters, who claim to be the “world’s most identical twins”, had been with their partner Ben for 10 years.

And while Ben has supported their extreme and often “obsessive” ways to live identical lives, one decision has caused him to step in.

The twins revealed they had been working at an Italian restaurant in an episode of Extreme Sisters.

But after a few weeks they decided to quit, a decision that caused a riff in their relationship for bigger reasons.

“In the 10 years that I’ve been with them, I’ve watched their need to be the same get more extreme,” worried Ben.

Hear what he had to say in the video at the top of this story.

The twins explained their decision: “The more we worked there, we found ourselves changing, we found ourselves growing apart.”

Anna provided the example of how she was holding a plate, while Lucy was holding a glass.

You can catch an example here:

“It’s better if we do things identical and touch everything the same,” Anna went on. “We are the same person.”

Reacting to their decision, Ben said he was “frustrated” but in the video below, shared the real reason:

Perhaps what worried him most was the fact the twins have “given up on a lot of things” including having babies and now this job.

“Just because it doesn’t agree with their way of life.”

“If you want to quit, quit. But I don’t know if can support this restaurant idea,” Ben told Anna and Lucy.

The twins revealed they wanted to pursue their dream of opening a restaurant. A dream Ben found impossible if they couldn’t get any business experience.

“How much of this being together mean to you that it’s going to compromise everything we do in life?” he spelled it out for them. “How are we going to get ahead?”

“This is who you’re dating. We’re not going to change,” the sisters replied as emotion filled the room.

Ben of all people understood it was a difficult situation for Anna and Lucy.

“I’m not trying to change you, I’m just stuck,” he said.

Their mum Jeana was on the same page.

“They’re so focused on being the same for the little things that maybe they’re missing out on the bigger picture,” she said privately.

While Ben added: “I try not to argue with the girls but it does bother me when they don’t consider how their actions affect my life.”

Anna and Lucy met their partner Ben through social media and have now been together for 11 years.

Ben proposed to the twins in June 2021. He surprised Anna and Lucy at the same place they had their first date – and popped the question with two identical rings of course!

Despite being engaged, Anna and Lucy revealed the only thing stopping them from getting married is because it’s illegal in Australia.

They’ve also faced another hurdle – trying to fall pregnant at the exact same time.
