Tracie and Stacie are sisters who do everything together… including, oddly, growing unusually large bumps on their heads.

They are fraternal twins, but they have had the matching bumps for the past 15 years, ranging from golf ball to walnut-sized.

The bumps impact the twins day-to-day life, from how they sleep to how they wear their hair.

“It makes me emotional when we’re in public to see people staring, I just feel bad,” Stacie explained.

Thanks to a push from their daughters, in an episode of Dr. Pimple Popper, they sought the help of dermatologist Sandra Lee to remove the cysts.

And just like with everything else in their lives, the twins were in it together.

“If Dr Lee were to say ‘Tracie, I can help you, I can remove yours but unfortunately I won’t be able to help Stacie’, I would tell her ‘I thank you very much for your time but I won’t do it,'” Tracie shared.

“We’re in this together and it’s either all in or all out.”

Dr Lee was surprised by the bumps, which all appeared on the same sides of the twins’ heads.

“These are bumps that are not technically genetic but they do tend to run in families in the way that we share the same type of skin,” she explained.

She diagnosed the lumps as pilar cysts, benign cysts that arise from hair follicles.

However, there were some differences between each sister’s bumps.

“Tracie’s three bumps are bigger than I initially thought but they are soft and mobile so that’s always good in my book,” Dr Lee said.

“Stacie has cysts that are older, they’ve leaked before so there’s probably some scar tissue so they may be more difficult and complicated to remove,” she continued.

Thankfully, Dr Lee felt confident that she could help both sisters.

In the operating room, Dr Lee removed Tracie’s cysts first before moving onto Stacie.

The extractions were not pretty, even resulting in some fluid splattering on Dr Lee’s clinic walls.

But afterwards, the sisters were very grateful to be free of their bumps.

“I can’t say enough about what she’s done and how thankful I am for Dr Lee removing my problematic bumps,” Stacie said.

“The embarrassing moments, people looking, not being able to wear my hair up, now that’s a weight lifted off my shoulders that I don’t have to worry about anymore,” Tracie agreed.
